Melges 20 European Championship is about to start in Sibenik

European fleet of Melges 20 is coming back to Croatia, Sibenik this time, for the Melges 20 European Championship!

In the prelimenary application there are thirty six teams from Croatia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Monaco, Danmark and Russia. Today in the morning in D-Marin Mandalina the skipper briefing started, and soon the first warning signal will be given. The races will start at 13.30 (GMT+2) and last till Saturday, July 15th.

We can see a lot of familiar faces this time on the amazing Adriatic sea, everyone will be battling for the European Champion title.

There were three stages already in the European Division of the Melges 20 World League, with three different winners: Vladimir Prosikhin and his Nika (Porto Venere), Achille Onorato's Mascalzone Latino Jr. (Scarlino) and Alexander Ezhkov's Pirogovo (Zadar). But neither of these teams are leading the 2017 Melges 20 World League Ranking. That would be Russian Bogatyrs of Igor Rytov, and they are fully prepared to protect and prove their position.

By the way, on the last regatta of the European Division in Zadar the podium was completely Russian. Pirogovo of Alexander Ezhkov was in the first position, the runners up were Vladimir Prosikhin's Nika and Russian Bogatyrs of Igor Rytov. Results of this event you can see here.

Now we shall see how everyone will be doing in the European Championship! We wish all teams luck and strength!
